Mexico: Transportation workers to march in Mexico City September 3

Transportation staff is set to strike on Tuesday, September 3, in Mexico City as of 07:00 (local time). Employees are demanding the government to increase transport fees. Government has responded negatively to the protest, stating it would not raise transportation fees.

The staff will set out from four locations and will all gather at the Zocalo, or Constitution Square: Puebla metro station at the Viaducto Río de la Piedad and Avenue 8 intersection; La Raza metro station; General Anaya metro; Avenida Observatorio in front of Medical Center ABC.

Roadblocks are expected during the strike, likely causing significant transportation disruptions. Public transportation service is also likely to be affected, with reduced or no service in some areas of the city.
