Portugal: Fuel tank drivers to strike in key areas September 7-22 /update 4

Members of the National Union of Hazardous Drivers (SNMMP) are set to begin another strike beginning on Saturday, September 7, until Sunday, September 22. Participants will seek to denounce overtime, weekend, and holiday wages. This will be the third such strike in six months. Union representatives stated that no minimum services will be ensured during the strike period, raising concerns that fuel shortages may therefore a possibility over the coming weeks across the country. Airport operations may therefore be affected by the strike. During the strike in August airports used fuel reserves to continue operating flights.
