Costa Rica: Protest scheduled in San José September 10

Event

Members of the National Union of Employees of the Costa Rican Social Security Center are set to protest in San José on Tuesday, September 10, due to the Controllers' decision to determine a previous agreement signed in February and August of this year as not valid. The agreement includes tax reforms and bonus agreements for employees, among other benefits. Participants will therefore gather at 09:00 (local time) at the Caja Costarricense de Seguro Social.

A heightened security presence and associated transportation disruptions are likely at the demonstration.
