Activists plan two marches in Mexico City between September 25-26; heightened security presence and associated disruptions expected

Activists have called for two marches in Mexico City between Wednesday, September 25, and Thursday, September 26, to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the kidnapping of 43 students in Ayotzinapa. On Wednesday, participants plan to gather at the antimonumento sculpture on Avenue Paseo de la Reforma at 11:00 (local time) and then march to the Fiscalía General de la República building. On Thursday, activists are due to gather at the The Angel of Independence statue at 16:00 and then march to Zócalo.

A heightened security presence and localized transport disruptions are expected along the march routes.
