Libya: US airstrike kills 11 suspected militants near Murzuq September 24

A US airstrike killed 11 suspected militants near Murzuq on Tuesday, September 24. US Africa Command reported that the airstrike was carried out to eliminate Islamic State (IS) militants in the area. The airstrike follows a September 19 US airstrike in the area which reportedly killed eight suspected IS militants.

Additional US airstrikes targeting suspected Islamist militants are possible in the Murzuq area over the near term.
