Farmers to protest agricultural policies in several cities October 22; transportation disruptions expected

Farmers in Germany are set to protest an agricultural policy package on Tuesday, October 22, in several cities. Protests are scheduled in Bonn, Berlin, Stuttgart, Munich, Hanover, Bayreuth, Würzburg, Rendsburg, Magdeburg, and several other cities.
A protest in Bonn, the main event, is expected to be very disruptive, with an estimated 10,000 farmers expected to participate. Farmers there will gather at 11:00 (local time) at the Cathedral Square.
Protesters in Berlin will gather at six different locations and will also likely be disruptive. Locations include: the B198 and ring road; the B1 ring; the B169; and the B5, among others.
Protesters in Stuttgart will gather at 13:00 at the Kernerstraße. Prior to the protest, farmers will meet with their tractors and are expected to drive through the city as of 10:00.
Protesters in Munich will gather at 11:00 at the Odeonsplatz.
Significant transportation disruptions are expected at and near all protests, as farmers may attempt to block roads with tractors. A heightened security presence is also possible.
