As of Tuesday, November 19, Austria is experiencing heavy snowfall resulting in flooding and mudslides. The most affected areas are located in southern Austria where several train services have been canceled and 1700 homes deprived of electricity. One mudslide killed one person in Bad Kleinkirchheim (southern Austria) and two women were reported injured due to another mudslide in Bad Gastein, south of Salzburg. In Gurktal (Carinthia region), 70 firefighters also evacuated residents as a result of the Gurk river overflow. Authorities have launched rescue operations through southern Austria to watch for potential avalanches and assist affected villages.

Transportation disruptions including road closures are likely in the region. .
