Poland: Thousands protest across country over judicial reforms December 1

Thousands protested across Poland on Sunday, December 1, denouncing the ruling party's judicial reforms and the recent suspension of a judge which some demonstrators claim threaten judicial independence and the rule of law. Demonstrators reportedly gathered in more than 100 towns and cities across the country, notably including Warsaw.

Similar protests are possible across Poland over the near term amid a heightened security presence. Localized disruptions to transportation and business are to be expected near demonstration sites.
