Several opposition parties are scheduling demonstrations on Sunday, December 29, and Monday, December 30, to mark the one-year anniversary of the 11th parliamentary election that took place on December 30, 2018.
The Jatiya Oikya Front has called for rallies in Dhaka on Sunday and Monday. Participants of both protests plan to gather at 14:00 (local time) in front of the National Press Club.
The Bangladesh National Party (BNP) and the Left Democratic Alliance have also announced nationwide protests on Monday. However, neither group immediately announced exact meeting times or locations as of Saturday, December 28.
A heightened security presence and localized transportation disruptions are expected near all protest sites.
