Orgulloso De Mi PNC civil society group plan to erect roadblocks in support of the police January 10; heightened security presence and transportation disruptions expected

The Orgulloso De Mi PNC civil society group has called for demonstrations in Villa Nueva on Friday, January 10, in support of the police and penitentiaries forces. Participants plan to gather at 09:00 (local time) on the CA-9 road, kilometer marker 14, to erect roadblocks in both directions, therefore blocking accesses to the nearby capital Guatemala City.
A heightened security presence and transportation disruptions are to be expected near all demonstration sites.
