According to officials, the airport is particularly susceptible to the effects of the storm due to damage sustained in a fire on Wednesday, January 15. Flight disruptions at ALC, including cancelations, diversions, and delays are expected to continue through Monday.

Context

A fire broke out on the roof of the terminal at ALC at around 14:30 on Wednesday, January 15, forcing 2000 people to evacuate the airport. Flight operations were suspended until 16:00, causing significant delays and diversions to Murica and Valencia.
