Libya: IEDs kill seven in southern Tripoli June 10

At least seven people were killed and ten others were wounded in landmine blasts which occurred in the Ain Zara and Wadi Rabea areas in southern Tripoli on Wednesday, June 10. The improvised explosive devices (IEDs) are suspected to have been planted by Libyan National Army (LNA) forces before fleeing their positions in the area. According to media sources explosions took place on Airport Road and in Ain Zara, as well as other areas in southern Tripoli. A Central Investigation Department (CID) member was killed and three de-mining experts were also among the wounded. Security forces are continuing their efforts in the area to remove and dismantle IEDS which have been left in civilian residential areas, in order to allow the return of the internally displaced persons (IDPs) back to their homes.
