Honduras: NOAA lift tsunami warning on June 23 /update 1

On Tuesday, June 23, following an initial warning due to a 7.4 magnitude earthquake 11 km (7 miles) SSW of Santa María Zapotitlán, Mexico, the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has lifted the tsunami warning in place for Honduras.

Aftershocks are possible in the affected area over the coming hours and days.

Individuals in the affected area are advised to monitor the situation and prepare for potential aftershocks.

In the event of aftershocks, individuals are advised to protect themselves as much as possible from falling debris if indoors (e.g. under a table), move away from windows, and not attempt to leave a building unless there is an immediate danger. If outdoors, move away from tall buildings, utility wires, and streetlights. If safe to do so, seek high ground.
