As of Friday, June 26, 360 people have been displaced as a result of flash flooding in Uruguay's southern provinces. Reportedly, heavy rains and strong winds in Montevideo, Lavalleja, Colonia, and Canelones provinces have triggered the floods and caused significant damages, and also blocked several roads. More than 1800 power outages have been reported due to strong winds in the capital Montevideo.
Over the next 24 hours, moderate to locally heavy rain is forecast over central and northern provinces.
Disruptions to travel and infrastructure are anticipated over the coming days.
