Warning

Event

Both anti and pro-monarchy rallies are scheduled to occur in Palma (Mallorca) on Thursday, August 13, and Friday, August 14. The rallies, which will take place during the annual visit of King Felipe VI and his family, are expected to be well attended. On August 13, participants in the pro-monarchy rally will gather at 20:00 (local time) at Plaça de la Reina, after which they will move to the Royal Palace of La Almudaina. Anti-monarchy protests will take place at 20:00 on August 14 outside the palace. Although the events are expected to pass off peacefully, clashes between the two groups cannot be ruled out.

Heightened security measures and localized travel disruptions are likely to occur in the vicinity of the demonstrations/rallies.

Advice

Individuals in Palma are advised to avoid all protests as a precaution, monitor the situation, allow ample travel time, and obey instructions issued by local authorities.
