Iraq: Security forces fire on protesters in Basra August 16

Security forces used tear gas and live ammunition to disperse protesters in Basra on Sunday, August 16. The demonstrators had gathered outside the governor's residence in the Manawi Al-Basha area to condemn the assassination of a civil activist which occurred on Friday, August 14.
