South Africa: Nationwide anti-corruption protests scheduled for September 5

Nationwide anti-corruption protests are scheduled to occur on Saturday, September 5. Participants will reportedly gather in Cape Town, Johannesburg, and Port Elizabeth, as well as in other urban centers, to demand accountability from the government. The protests are expected to be well attended but are intended to be peaceful.  

A heightened security presence and localized travel disruptions should be anticipated in the vicinity of the demonstrations.
