Nationwide anti-government protests scheduled for September 29; avoid all demonstrations

Nationwide anti-government protests are scheduled to take place throughout urban centers of Honduras on Tuesday, September 29. The demonstrations have been organized by the political opposition party, Liberty and Refoundation (LIBRE), who have specifically called for participants of the demonstrations to block highways and main roads including in the capital Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula.
Participants are further set to rally at the National Registry of Persons (RNP) offices throughout the country to demand the updating of the electoral roll and reform.
An increased police presence and localized disruptions are likely in the vicinity of the protest sites on Tuesday with the realistic possibility of temporary road closures.
