Restrictions will be imposed in areas of Kampala during the nominations for candidates for the 2021 presidential election on Monday, November 2, and Tuesday, November 3. The nominations will take place at the Kyambogo cricket ground and road closures and other movement restrictions, including a daytime curfew, will be in place for residents of Kyambogo, Kireka, and neighboring areas on Monday and Tuesday.

A heightened security presence and delays to overland transport are expected to accompany the restrictions. Protests associated with the nominations are likely in Kampala and across Uganda.
