Warning

Event

The Asturias Hospitality Association (Otea) will lead a protest in Oviedo from 1200 Dec. 11 to denounce coronavirus disease (COVID-19) measures that adversely impact the hospitality industry. The protest will take place on Paseo de los Alamos in the city center; attendance will likely not exceed the low hundreds.

Police will likely deploy to the area ahead of the protest. Related security measures could result in localized disruptions, particularly on Calle Uria. Current COVID-19 measures in Spain restrict public gatherings, and police will likely single out individuals deemed to be breaching these restrictions; arrests are possible. Nonetheless, the event will likely proceed peacefully.
