Sudan: Civil group to protest in Khartoum Jan. 14

Members of the Sudan Professionals Association will protest at the Office of the Attorney General and the Cabinet Office in Khartoum 1300-1400 Jan. 14. Activists are protesting the death of a local youth while in the custody of the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces. The group is also calling for an end to perceived rights violations by the security organization.

An increased security presence is possible at the event. Security forces may attempt to disperse participants using force. Transport disruptions are also possible on the nearby Nile Street for the duration of the event.
