Planned water outage to occur in Panadura and Wadduwa, Western Province, Sri Lanka, 2000 Jan. 21-0400 Jan. 22. Stockpile water in advance.

The National Water Supply and Drainage Board plans to suspend water supply to areas of Panadura and Wadduwa, Western Province, 2000 Jan. 21-0400 Jan. 22. The Keselwatta and Pradeshiya Sabha boundary areas of Panadura are expected to be affected. Residents may experience lingering disruptions, such as low-pressure supply, through the afternoon of Jan. 22.
Some business disruptions are possible in the affected areas, especially at companies that rely heavily on municipal water to maintain operations.
Panadura and Wadduwa are located approximately 28 km (17 miles) south of central Colombo.
Advice
Stock up on drinking water and confirm alternative water supplies for business operations. Use only bottled water from reputable suppliers for drinking and hygienic purposes. Pressure and quality may be poor after service resumes; run taps for several minutes before using water. Minimize nonessential water use throughout the outage.
