Costa Rica: Police protest planned in central San Jose Jan. 26

Police officers affiliated with the National Association of Public and Private Sector Employees (ANEP) plan to march from the ANEP offices on Calle 20 to the Legislative Assembly in San Jose, starting at 0900 Jan. 26. The exact march route has not been announced. The action is to demand legislative and regulatory reforms to improve labor conditions for police. It is unclear how many people will join the demonstration, though immigration officials also plan to participate in the march. A large gathering is likely to cause localized traffic disruptions.

An increased security presence is likely along the march route and especially near the Legislative Assembly; associated security measures could prompt localized disruptions.
