The Shiraz Water and Sewerage Company has announced that a planned water outage will occur in large parts of Shiraz, Fars Province, 0000-2000 Jan. 30 due to repair works. Affected areas include Dinakan, Goldasht Maali Abad, and Vahdat in District 6; Ahmad Abad, Baharan, Farhangian, Mahdiyeh, Mohammadiyeh, Rezvan, and Valfajr in District 9; and Bahonar, Javadieh, and Pardis in District 10. Residents may experience lingering disruptions, such as low-pressure supply, through early Jan. 31.

Some business disruptions are possible in the affected areas, especially at companies that rely heavily on municipal water to maintain operations.

Stock up on drinking water and confirm alternative water supplies for business operations. Use only bottled water from reputable suppliers for drinking and hygienic purposes. Pressure and quality may be poor after service resumes; run taps for several minutes before using water. Minimize nonessential water use throughout the outage.
