Vietnam: COVID-19-related restrictions gradually easing in Quang Ninh Province; Van Don International Airport set to reopen March 3 /update 2

Officials in Quang Ninh are gradually easing COVID-19 restrictions in most of the province as of Feb. 22. Interprovincial travel has resumed in most locations, though officials maintain a strict movement ban and roadblocks in Dong Trieu Village. Some categories of nonessential businesses, including bars and sports facilities, remain closed throughout the province. Authorities plan to resume in-person classes as schools from March 1. Moreover, Van Don International Airport (VDO) is scheduled to reopen on March 3.

Additional security personnel will likely remain deployed in the province to enforce remaining controls and conduct health screenings. Authorities could reimpose, extend, further ease, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
