A hand grenade detonated inside a taxi cab near the al-Shaabiya Roundabout in Janzour at around 22:00 on April 12. According to preliminary reports, an individual had pulled the pin on the grenade and was threatening family members during a dispute when the device exploded, killing two persons and wounding two others. A number of media outlets had initially reported the incident as a car bombing.
Increased security is possible near the scene of the incident until authorities complete their investigation. Janzur is approximately 15 km (9 miles) west of Tripoli.
