Warning

Event

Authorities continue to enforce restrictions to stem the spread of COVID-19 in Phnom Penh as of June 3. Officials have suspended the operations of high-risk businesses, such as casinos, cinemas, nightclubs, and sports centers, through June 16. Gatherings are capped at 15 people. No curfew is in effect as of June 3. Most of Phnom Penh remains categorized as yellow zones, in which most businesses can operate on-site with health protocols. Authorities have classified two specific villages with higher COVID-19 activity in Por Sen Chey and Russey Keo districts as orange zones, where only essential sectors can continue operating on-site. Only people working in essential industries or in an emergency, among others, can leave their homes in these zones.

Authorities will likely maintain security protocols, such as checkpoints, to enforce continued restrictions in specific areas, especially the orange zones. Some business disruptions will likely continue in some localities due to these measures.

Advice

Heed the instructions of authorities. Avoid nonessential operations in areas impacted by the restrictions. Confirm transport reservations. Remain cooperative if questioned by law enforcement officers.
