A magnitude-5.1 offshore earthquake occurred in the South Pacific Ocean off Valparaiso Region in central Chile at around 23:36 June 11. The epicenter was about 59 km (37 miles) west-southwest of San Antonio. The tremor occurred at a depth of about 14 km (9 miles), and weak-to-light shaking was probably felt throughout northern Maule, O'Higgins, Santiago Metropolitan, and Valparaiso regions.
