Warning

Event

La Lista del Pueblo plan to march from Plaza Baquedano (also referred to as Plaza Dignidad) to the Former National Congress Building (Ex-Congreso Nacional) in Santiago, from 08:15 July 4. The exact marching route is not clear. The rally is in remembrance of victims of political violence. The march coincides with the 10:00 opening of the Constitutional Convention, a 155 member body tasked with overseeing the drafting of a new constitution.

Heightened security is likely around the Former National Congress Building for the opening of the Constitutional Convention. Authorities may enact some movement restrictive measures in the area. Police are also likely to deploy to monitor the planned rally. Clashes are unlikely; however, protest-related ground travel disruptions are likely on routes along the protest march route.

Advice

Avoid the march as a standard precaution. Heed the directives of the authorities. Plan for road travel disruptions in the impact area through July 4.
