Sudan enforcing updated COVID-19-related international travel restrictions as of Aug. 21; all domestic restrictions lifted.

Authorities in Sudan are enforcing updated COVID-19-related international travel restrictions as of Aug. 21.

All travelers will be allowed entry provided they present a negative result from a COVID-19 PCR test taken within the previous 72 hours. Travelers from the Americas, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand will have to provide a negative result from a PCR test taken within the previous 96 hours. Persons eight years of age and younger are exempt from this testing requirement.

Mandatory quarantine measures have been lifted for all arriving travelers. However, passengers who failed to provide a negative result from a PCR test will be subject to a 14-day quarantine period at their own cost.

COVID-19 restrictions applying to travel across land borders have largely been lifted; however, the eastern border with Ethiopia remains closed due to insecurity in northern Ethiopia.

All domestic restrictions have been lifted.

Authorities could reimpose, extend, further ease, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
