Romania: Anti-government activists to protest in Bucharest, Sept. 4-5

Opposition activists are planning to protest in central Bucharest on Sept. 4-5 to denounce corruption and demand the government's resignation. Participants will gather at around 18:00 on both days in the vicinity of Piata Victoriei.

Attendance could reach the low thousands. Additional police will deploy to monitor the actions; associated security measures could prompt localized transport disruptions. Although the protests are likely to proceed peacefully, isolated clashes with police are possible if demonstrators become disruptive or attempt to breach security cordons.
