Ireland: Cork Airport (ORK) suspends flights until Nov. 22

Cork Airport (ORK), Ireland, suspends flights until Nov. 22 for renovations; increased demand at other nearby airports possible.

Warning

Event

Authorities have suspended flights to and from Cork Airport (ORK) until at least Nov. 22 to facilitate renovation of the main runway; the work could extend beyond that date.

Lower traveler numbers due to the COVID-19 pandemic are likely to mitigate disruptions; however, increased demand is possible at other area airports, including Shannon (SNN), Sligo (SXL), and Waterford (WAT). Security and baggage processing delays are also possible at these facilities.

Advice

Confirm flight status before travel if flying via SNN, SXL, or WAT. Allow additional time for processing, and arrive at the airport early to prevent your seat from being allocated to a standby passenger.
