Authorities in Gambia maintaining mandatory testing for travelers from COVID-19 hotspots as of Sept. 16. Minimal domestic measures remain.

Event

As of Sept. 16, COVID-19 restrictions across the Gambia remain largely unchanged.

International Restrictions
Land and sea borders are open. All travelers must present a negative result from a COVID-19 PCR test taken no more than 72 hours before arrival. Travelers arriving from hotspot countries (where a new strain of the virus has been detected), including the US, UK, Nigeria, Belgium, Chile, Denmark, France, Italy, Japan, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Netherlands, Lebanon, Jordan, South Korea, Turkey, India, and Pakistan, will be required to undergo a rapid COVID-19 test upon arrival. Travelers who test positive or do not provide the appropriate documents face quarantine for at least 14 days.

Domestic Measures
Establishments and facilities that are open must adhere to strict hygiene and social distancing measures. Limited religious gatherings are permitted provided worshippers adhere to health protocols. The use of protective facemasks is mandatory in public spaces.

Authorities could reimpose, extend, further ease, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
