Authorities in Gambia are maintaining COVID-19-related measures nationwide as of Nov. 18.

Warning

Event

As of Nov. 18, authorities are maintaining COVID-19 travel regulation and domestic restrictions nationwide.

International Restrictions
Vaccinated travelers to Gambia are not required to present a COVID-19 PCR test; however, vaccinated persons who display symptoms of the disease will be required to undergo a Rapid Diagnostic Test on arrival. If tested positive, the traveler will be quarantined.

Unvaccinated travelers will be required to provide a negative result from a COVID-19 PCR test taken no more than 72 hours before arrival. An additional test on arrival is likely. If a traveler tests positive on arrival, they will be quarantined at their own cost.

All persons arriving from hotspot countries, including the UK, US, and Germany, will also be required to undergo a Rapid Diagnostic Test on arrival. If tested positive, the traveler will be quarantined. Persons arriving without the requisite documentation will likely be quarantined.

Domestic Measures
Establishments and facilities must adhere to strict hygiene and social distancing measures. Limited religious gatherings are permitted provided worshippers adhere to health protocols. The use of protective facemasks is mandatory in public spaces.

Authorities could reimpose, extend, further ease, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.

Advice

Reconfirm all travel plans, follow official directives, and abide by national health and safety measures. Liaise with trusted contacts for further updates and guidance. Ensure contingency plans account for further disruptive measures or extensions of current restrictions.
