Army personnel and protesters have clashed in Tera, Tillaberi Region Nov. 27. According to reports, army personnel fired on the protesters, killing at least two and wounding an unknown number more. Local officials have yet to confirm the incident.

Protests first erupted late Nov. 26; participants were denouncing the presence of a French military convoy that was making its way from Burkina Faso to Gao, Mali, via Niger.

Security personnel will likely monitor protests and will almost certainly try to disperse gatherings. Localized transport disruptions are likely, especially if protesters block the RN4/RN5 that runs through Tera.
