Emergency crews are responding to an explosion near the national police (CAI) headquarters in the Puerto Rellena area, Cali, Valle del Cauca Department, as of early Jan. 8. Reports indicate that an explosive device targeted a passing vehicle carrying security personnel between Carrera 46 and Calle 25 late the previous day, wounding at least 10 officers. No group has claimed responsibility for the incident.

Authorities have cordoned off the surrounding area. Heightened security and localized disruptions are likely in the Puerto Rellena area over the coming hours.
