Air France KLM reportedly suspends flights to and from Mali as of Jan. 13. Reconfirm all flights.

Warning

Event

Air France KLM has reportedly suspended flights to and from Mali as of Jan. 13. The group indicated Jan. 12 that the order was implemented in accordance with the decision of the French authorities. It remains unclear how long the measure will remain in place. The measure follows recent sanctions imposed but the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) on the Malian government. The sanctions included the closure of land and air borders of its member states with Mali.

An increased demand for available flights to and from Mali is likely over the near term. Additional airlines may also seek to limit flights to and from Mali following the ECOWAS decision.

Advice

Reconfirm Air France (AF) flight availability between Mali and France well ahead of departure.
