Ukraine: Officials clarify revised curfew hours in Kyiv, Feb. 26 /update 1

Ukrainian officials issued a further statement Feb. 26 regarding the curfew. After initially updating the curfew to 17:00-08:00 through early Feb. 28, they now indicate that the curfew will begin 17:00 Feb. 26 and last until 08:00 Feb. 28. The military has indicated that all persons in public during this time will be considered enemy combatants. The previous curfew ran from 22:00-07:00. The amended curfew follows Russian military activity in the capital overnight Feb. 25/26.

Amendments to curfews and movement restrictions will almost certainly continue to be made in the coming days in response to conflict developments.

Avoid travel to Ukraine until the situation stabilizes; consider exiting the country if safe to do so. Where fighting or airstrikes are occurring, shelter in place until the situation becomes clear. If officials report incoming fire, stay away from windows and exterior walls. Strictly heed the instructions of local security personnel, particularly when ordered to air raid shelters. Stockpile food, fuel, and water when possible and safe to do so. Maintain contact with your diplomatic representation.
