Activists opposed to the existing government COVID-19 policy plan to carry out two protests in Vienna'city center March 12. The first gathering is scheduled at Schwarzenbergplatz from 12:00. Participants will march in the city center via Franz Josefs Kai to finish at Schwarzenbergplatz. A similar demonstration is planned at Heldenplatz from 15:45. Participants will also march through Franz Josefs Kai. Several thousand may attend the events. Police forces will close select roads of the city center to traffic, including sections of Franz Josefs Kai.

Increased security and localized disruptions along march routes are likely. Isolated clashes with security forces may occur.
