Bulgaria amends COVID-19 international entry restrictions as of April 1.

Officials are amending COVID-19 international travel restrictions as of April 1. From this date, authorities no longer classify countries based on disease activity. All travelers, regardless of their country of origin, are now permitted entry with a valid EU Digital COVID certificate or similar document confirming vaccination against COVID-19, recovery from COVID-19, or a recent negative test result; authorities accept PCR tests no older than 72 hours and rapid antigen tests no older than 48 hours.

There are no domestic measures in place in Bulgaria.

Authorities could reimpose, extend, further ease, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.

Advice

Follow all official instructions. Reconfirm all travel arrangements. Consider delaying traveling if experiencing symptoms associated with COVID-19, as they may prompt increased scrutiny and delays. Liaise with trusted contacts for further updates and guidance.
