As of April 12, authorities in Bahrain are no longer enforcing the COVID-19 Alert Level Traffic Light System. The system stipulated the differing domestic restrictions levels based on a rolling average COVID-19 positivity rate. Moreover, the wearing of facemasks inside and outside is now optional.
Domestic Measures
Authorities are no longer enforcing a COVID-19 Alert Level Traffic Light System. The wearing of facemasks inside and outside is now optional.
International Travel Restrictions
The following international travel measures also generally remain in effect:
Entry is generally restricted to Bahraini citizens and residents, GCC citizens who do not need a visa (i.e., citizens of Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE), passengers eligible to obtain a visa on arrival, and passengers with a valid electronic visa. For a full list of nationalities eligible to obtain a visa on arrival, click here.
Passengers arriving at Bahrain International Airport (BAH) no longer need to present a negative pre-departure PCR test result.
All travelers to Bahrain no longer need to conduct a PCR test upon arrival. This measure also applies to travelers arriving in Bahrain via the King Fahd Causeway. However, those who test positive for COVID-19 when in Bahrain are required to self-isolate at home or at their hotel for seven days (if fully vaccinated) or 10 days (if unvaccinated) from the date of infection. The self-isolation period can be concluded earlier upon receipt of a negative PCR result from a private hospital.

Authorities could reimpose, extend, further ease, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
Advice
Follow all official instructions. Abide by national health and safety measures. Reconfirm all business appointments and travel arrangements. Consider delaying traveling if experiencing symptoms associated with COVID-19, as they may prompt increased scrutiny and delays. Liaise with trusted contacts for further updates and guidance. Ensure contingency plans account for further disruptive measures or extensions of current restrictions. Reconsider and reconfirm nonemergency health appointments.
