Bulgaria lifts all COVID-19-related international entry restrictions from May 1; virtually all COVID-19-related domestic measures rescinded.
Event
Officials in Bulgaria have lifted all of the country's COVID-19-related international travel restrictions. Effective May 1, all travelers, regardless of country of origin and vaccination status, are allowed entry without any additional requirements. There are also no COVID-19-related domestic measures in place in Bulgaria, except for mandatory self-isolation requirements for those testing positive for COVID-19 as well as for close contacts of a confirmed case.
Authorities could reimpose restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.
Advice
Follow all official instructions. Consider delaying traveling if experiencing symptoms associated with COVID-19, as they may prompt increased scrutiny and delays. Liaise with trusted contacts for further updates and guidance.
