Activists plan to protest in central Riga the evening of May 20. Organizers have called the action to demand the removal of Soviet-era monuments and memorials. Demonstrators will gather from 18:00 at Brivibas Square (Freedom Monument) before marching along Kalku Street, Stone Bridge, and Slokas Street and arriving at Uzvaras Park (Victory Park). Officials have indicated that vehicular and pedestrian traffic will be restricted along the marching route from 18:10. Public transport will be redirected as necessary. Hundreds of people are likely to participate in the action.

Security forces will deploy to monitor and manage the gathering and transportation in the area. Increased congestion is likely on nearby roads for the duration of the protest march. Clashes are unlikely.
