Sudan: Clashes between security forces and anti-government protesters occur in Omdurman May 21

Police forces have used tear gas and live ammunition to disperse an anti-government protest in the vicinity of Al-Azhari roundabout in Omdurman May 21. Protesters have erected roadblocks in the area. There have been no casualties reported at the time of writing.

Police forces will certainly remain deployed across Omdurman and Khartoum through late May 21. Further clashes between security forces and protesters remain likely. Localized traffic and commercial disruptions are likely near all protest sites.
