Slovenia, Croatia: Adverse weather forecast across Slovenia and northeastern parts of Croatia May 25

Thunderstorms are forecast across Slovenia and northeastern Croatia in the afternoon and evening of May 25. The thunderstorms may be accompanied by heavy downpours, strong wind gusts, lightning, and hail storms.

The meteorological agencies for the respective countries have issued the following weather warnings across the affected area:

• Orange thunderstorm warnings (the middle level on a three-tier scale): Northeast Region in Slovenia; and Osijek and Zagreb regions in Croatia.

• Yellow thunderstorm warnings: across the rest of Slovenia; and Karlovac Region in Croatia.

Officials could update and possibly extend the coverage of weather alerts over the coming days.
