Libyan authorities have reportedly suspended at Mitiga International Airport (MJI) in Tripoli following reports of a fired projectile impacting near the facility late June 1. Moreover, clashes among rival militias have erupted in the Al-Saba'a area, which is about 5.5 km (3 miles) south of MJI. It is likely that the projectile was fired during the clashes in question.

Regional flight disruptions could extend for some hours even after MJI resumes operations. Increased security and localized transport disruptions remain likely in the coming hours. Further similar incidents are likely.

Avoid the impacted area until the situation stabilizes. Heed the directives of local officials. Coordinate travel with a trusted local contact. Avoid travel at night. Avoid large gatherings. Reconfirm flights via MJI into at least early June 2.
