Dominican Republic: Activists to stage march in downtown Santo Domingo July 27

Activists from the Dominican Medical College (Colegio Medico Dominicano, CMD) plan to stage a march in downtown Santo Domingo starting at 09:00 July 27. The purpose of the action is to demand improved hospital conditions that include security agents, parking lots, drinking water, and improvements to infrastructure. At 09:00, participants will gather at the Our Lady of Altagracia University Maternity Hospital before marching to the National Palace.

While the action should remain largely peaceful, there will probably be a heightened police presence near the march.
