Event

Activists associated with the environmental group Together for the Planet and residents of Ducos Peninsula plan to protest in Noumea July 30 over a planned incinerator project. Organizers claim the project will further degrade the environment on the peninsula. Demonstrators will gather at the South Province Hotel, across from the provincial government office, from 08:00. The demonstration could draw up to a few hundred people, though a smaller turnout is likely.
