Informational

Event

EasyJet (EC) pilots associated with the Sindicato Español de Pilotos de Líneas Aéreas (Spanish Union of Airline Pilots, SEPLA) plan to stage three 72-hour strikes from mid-August through late August to demand changes to working conditions.

Strike organizers have announced the following work stoppage periods:

  • Aug. 12-14

  • Aug. 19-21

  • Aug. 27-29

Unless averted, the strikes will likely prompt significant flight disruptions, including cancellations and delays, to EasyJet services operating via Spanish airports during the work stoppages. Disruptions could extend for several hours after each strike period ends as the carrier moves to reposition aircraft and resolve any passenger backlogs.

Advice

Confirm flights if booked to fly with EasyJet via Spain during the strike periods. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed. Arrive early at airports to prevent your seat from being allocated to a standby passenger. Consider alternate arrangements for critical travel.
