Iran: Education sector employees plan nationwide protests Sept. 6

Employees in the education sector plan to demonstrate nationwide from 10:00 Sept. 6 to demand higher salaries and improved working conditions. Hundreds of individuals could attend the demonstrations.

Increased security and localized transport disruptions are likely near gathering sites, especially near the Ministry of Education in Tehran, the morning of Sept. 6. Clashes between police and protesters cannot be ruled out, particularly if demonstrators are overly disruptive or if they ignore police orders to disperse.
